It's hard to think about real winter when it's 70 degrees outside. This week last year, as Dallas was getting ready to welcome SuperBowl XLV, we were slammed with one of the worst winters in our area. (Let's not talk about Dallas Superbowl. It's a sore subject around here).
This year, we are wearing light sweaters and on some occasions, even in casual T-shirts, jeans and flip flops.
No complaints from me because I'm very afraid of the cold anyways.
In some ways, I miss winter from a distance. The cool winter coats, ear muffs and my Columbia jacket.
This year, many Frisco TX homeowners are out in the yard, preparing for a Spring flowering season. Trimming, shaping and working on long-due exterior maintenance of our homes. It sure beats having to run in and out of stores.
Join me as I reminisce the winter that was:

Our Central Louisiana winter has been mild as well. Thankfully, the rain has returned, which was really needed.
A little rainy here in San Antonio but forecasted to be 75 today! Whoohoo, that's why you gotta love Texas :)! Gonna be a really hot summer though :)! Nice to see snow in pictures, lol :)!
I am LOVING this spring-like weather. I too dislike the cold.
HI Loreena.....I miss the snow this year..... your photos look like 4 or 5 inches..... that's a dusting here....we had 8' of snow last winter....
Will it stay warm or will it chill out again? We are warming up here in Albuquerque but it is still mighty cold in the morning!
Remember it well and today it was like spring time. I took the below picture to remember that monumental snowfall:
Connie - That's an absolute beautiful shot right there!!!
Indianapolis, so much further north will be similar to Dallas THIS YEAR Loreena for the Super Bowl. Warm across much of the U.S., very cold in Northern Alaska and Europe. Weird weather... 2011, a different story, and for the out of towners that NEVER happened except that year.
Last winter in Manhattan was pretty brutal, so far so good this year, let's hope for more good weather in both of our areas.
Those are lovely photos you have shared Loreena. Was that your cute little boy staring outside the window? Never the less.. the winter season really does bring families closer to one another. Thanks for sharing.
Lucky you! I can hardly wait until we get to Spring and everything is green again:)
